One of my goals is to support the advancement of minorities and students from Latin America.
At Purdue University I was the secretary of the Colombian Student Association (CSAP: https://engineering.purdue.edu/CPI/en/students/organizations) and helped in the early stages of the Colombia-Purdue initiative. Through this organization, I had the opportunity to foster the well-being and academic progress of several Colombian students at Purdue.
At Tulane University I have helped cultivate scientific thinking of seventh-grade girls and boys via the GIST and BATS programs respectively. Through the program established by the Van Bael Lab, I trained the girls and boys in how to collect endophytes from leaves (see pictures below). For more information please visit their webpages:
